SUMMARY:2024 Pilot Mountain Hawk Watch
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the 2024 Pilot Mountain Hawk Watch. We will be counting hawks and other raptors at the Little Pinnacle at Pilot Mountain September 20th – 30th. \nWe count in two shifts each day: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm\, but you can come at any time for as long as you like. \nEveryone is welcome. No experience necessary. SUMMARY:Young Birders Outing
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a very special Young Birders Outing: BIRDING AND GEOLOGY (you might say\, Birds Rock!). \nThis outing will be at the Gateway Nature Preserve at Washington Park. Parking for this outing will be at the Family Services paved parking lot – 1200 S. Broad Street\, Winston-Salem\, NC 27101. \nSpecial expert leader\, Jeremy Reiskind\, will lead the outing. Jeremy is a lifelong birder and retired Geology Professor\, UNC School of the Arts. He will show us birds and teach us about the special geological features and stream ecology of the Washington Park / Gateway Preserve area. \nAll Young Birders must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We encourage everyone to bring a snack and water. Please wear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes. Though this walk is geared for the younger set\, ALL AGES are welcome and encouraged to attend!
