Davis is founder and CEO of Maxie B’s Bakery in Greensboro\, NC. Davis won the 2022 Governor’s Award for North Carolina Business Conservationist of the Year. Last year Maxie B’s won the City of Greensboro’s #LiveGreen “Waste Not Award”. Davis and her team installed native plantings in front and behind the bakery in a strip mall on busy Battleground Avenue in Greensboro and now have birds nesting in the habitat they created. She is on the board of Piedmont Land Conservancy and T. DESCRIPTION:Join outing leader Jesse Haaf at the Tanglewood Yadkin River Trail.  Park in the gravel lot across from Skilpot Lake (follow the signs for the BMX track once you go through the park entrance – the trail begins on the road to the BMX track).  Dress in layers for varying conditions as we normally are out around 2 hours.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  This event is open to anyone\, but is geared toward our young birders!

SUMMARY:Bethabara Clean-up
DESCRIPTION:Come join in the fun of cleaning up at Bethabara Wetlands – Forsyth Audubon’s adopted area for Clean-Up.  We often bird in that area taking pleasure in sighting Red-winged Blackbirds\, Great Blue Heron\, Green Heron\, warblers during migration and even some rare visitors from the coast sometimes.  Let’s keep the area free of plastic\, styrofoam\, and other trash that harms wildlife.  Email forsythaudubon@gmail.com and let us know you are coming.  A head count is needed as well as waivers need to be signed.  There is a small area of Bethabara Lower Trails that also will be cleaned that day.  Let us know if you would like to be part of that time\, which will gather at 8:30 AM.
