April Young Birders Walk

April 25 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Meet at 9:00 AM in the lower parking lot at Reynolda Village next to the Lake Katharine Wetlands. We’ll gather near the historic Boathouse, then explore the woodland trails where we hope to find some special birds migrating through our area as well as our resident species and those who migrate here and then stay to breed.

The fourth week in April is in fact close to the height of spring migration.  A random few species that you may wish to look up so you’ll be alert for them are: Acadian Flycatcher, Swainson’s Thrush, and Black-throated Green Warbler. You will hear these birds, whether you see them or not.

We suggest that attendees wear closed-toe shoes. Snacks and beverages are always a good idea. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. And, although the walk is geared for the younger crowd, all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.

A note that Reynolda Gardens is having their Plant Sale that day, beginning at 8 AM. The lower parking lot may be a tad more crowded than normal. Parking on the grass is an option if needed.
