February Young Birders Walk

The Young Birder’s group will hold its Winter Waterfowl Walk on Saturday, February 28 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Sugar Valley Airport community. We encourage families with children and adults young at heart to join us on our first trip to this unique location. This location is approximately a 30-40 minute drive from Winston-Salem depending on where you live. Address: 249 Gilbert Road, Mocksville, NC 27028

After assembling in the gravel parking lot in front of the office, we will bird along the trail that borders the community’s pond looking for waterfowl and birds of prey. Then we’ll explore a short nature trail bordering a wooded wetland. This area usually has a good diversity of birds and we may even watch a plane take off or land!

ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A REPONSIBLE ADULT. We suggest sturdy shoes, layers of clothing, snacks and water. Please bring binoculars if you have them. We’ll also have loaners.
